This Year’s Wet Water In California Won’t Solve Our Water Issues

As we creep closer and closer to winter, officials in California are bracing for one of the wettest and most dangerous winters of the decade. El Nino is upon us once more, and it is predicted to bring punishing storms across the entire state, but especially over Southern California, including the highly populated cities of Los Angeles and San Diego.

California desperately needs the heavy rains that are predicted to fall, especially in the mountains that feed California’s most important reservoirs, Shasta Lake and Lake Oroville. However, residents of Southern California shouldn’t start cheering just yet. The state water reserves are so low after a brutal, four-year drought that one single winter of heavy rain won’t be enough to bring us back up to where we need to be. That means that those living in SOCAL must continue our water wise practices.

One way to help conserve water is to choose a Waterboy whole house water filtration system over a system that uses sodium and potassium. Salt-based filtration systems waste huge amount of water!

Drive carefully and stay safe this winter!
